I love movies. I love watching great movies and leaving in awe. I like watching bad movies with friends and ripping them apart afterwards.I love reading fiction, poetry and the New York Times Magazine every sunday.I Dance my ass off all the time, with or without music. I try to go out dancing at least three times a month, but usually it becomes a lot more than that. I have too many friends that add and support my dancing habbit. I've even been considered a great dancer by many, but most of all I just get on the floor and have a great time. I'm sure that I am interested in a lot more stuff but again I draw a blank.

My favorite Rock band is the White Stripes. So much great music to come out of a divorce proves that it isn't all bad. I've been really enjoying the Mars Volta as well. I am not closed to rock alone, I really listen to everything from Classical, to mambo to rock to hip hop to everything that falls into the dance category and way beyond. To dance to i've been enjoying great latin funk type music. My favorite places to dance play samba or mambo or salsa over house techno tracks with live percussion. For this I go to the Frying Pan to catch Turntables off the Hudson, and to Bembe in Williamsburg, and many more places. I can also dance at a hiphop club as well as a tribal techno type club. As long as the beats and drums are thick I am dancing. "I'm addicted to drums and I'm a slave to the dark beat". And I can't forget my old fashion salsa/mambo/merengue/bachata clubs. They still have a certain appeal to them. I also love going out for drinks and conversation where there is good sit down music, but as soon as there is something dancable I am up and moving no matter what.
It isn't too easy for me to compile a list of top ten or twenty movies. I am a lover of movies. To list a few in no particular order I love, Igby Goes Down, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless mind, great expectations, Finding neverland and many many many more. I am still a sucker for Disney movies and great cartoon movies. I still tear with some movies and love to laugh with them as well. My movie interests are everywhere. I think I'd watch anything once, to either love it or ripe it to pieces.
I don't watch too much TV. I decided to get rid of cable even though I love HBO because it was becoming a distraction. I hate most reality television and I am still a fan of Law and Order. I don't have any series I watch religiously because I don't Tivo or record and I don't run home because I might miss something. I have regular locally sindicated channels, even though this is only recent. I was a huge televison addict before I decided that being out and about was much more better, and paying for Cable I don't watch wasn't practicle anymore. I still miss HBO.
Black Jacobins by CLR James is the Dopest. Read it for revolution! Huge list. Fiction I am reading a lot of Chuck Palahniuk at the moment. I went through a huge Anne Rice period during the end of my teens. Huge being 15 novels. Towards the end many of them sucked but I was in love with the characters and wanted to know what happened to them. I read a little Dan Brown here and there and I like to through in the classics when I can. In poetry I am reading a lot of Martin Espada, Sylvia Plath, Federico Garcia Lorca and Patricia Smith. I go from old to contemporary on a day by day basis. I also get a lot of poets who give me their Chap Books as they pass by New York and I try to read their stuff as well. I love reading and I am open to any recommendations.
I don't know if I can name my heroes. They are many and at the same time they are few. My artist community are where most of my heroes reside. Then my parents have been too huge not to be heroes as well. Something like that.
