About Me

Myspace Layouts by Pimp-My-Profile.com

Welcome to my page. My name is Jeanie. I was born in 1959, the year Bobby recorded "Dream Lover", "Mack The Knife", and "Beyond The Sea"... 1959 was a great year... It was my year and although I didn't know it at the time, it was apparently Bobby's year, too...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

When I get home I will meet my Maker and the Lover of my soul, the Lord Jesus. Everyone else pales by comparison. There are many people that I would love to meet, however both living and dead... the apostle Paul (his was a life of transformation if there ever was one), the "Sons of Thunder" known as Peter, James, and John (I bet there's never a dull moment with those three around), Mary (the mother of Jesus), both my parents (of course), entertainers such as Elvis, John Lennon (I hope he made it), and the love of my life Bobby Darin. Now that was a MAN. Nobody could sing like him either... not even close. I would also like to meet Robert Mitchum (one of my favorite actors who was everything Hollywood was not... unpretentious and unaffected), Marilyn Monroe (and ask her what really happened that fateful night), and too many others to mention... Down here, I would like to meet my friends from MySpace.

Music:

Walden Robert Cassotto aka Bobby Darin was (in my opinion) the best singer and all-around entertainer, ever. Because of Bobby Darin, I like more of the big band sounds of jazz and swing. But Bobby covered all the genres of music and he covered them more than well. Bobby was a great singer, but he was also a dynamic stage performer, musician, songwriter, actor, comic, producer, and all- around entertainer. He had a real passion for everything he did as an artist. Because of Bobby, I like all kinds of music... except heavy metal.

Movies:

Many of the old movies and especially the film noir of the 1940s and 50s. Also, some of the old horror movies, like the ones Universal used to put out.The Hollywood of yesterday had class... but the Hollywood of today can take a flying leap as far as I'm concerned. I think that the writing was better in the old movies and the character of people was understood much better back then. Too many movies today seem shallow, lacking any real depth in that area. There are no more movie stars that seem at all glamorous and none of them interest me in the least. Personally, I think they are all grossly over paid.

Television:

Turner Classic Movies, Fox News, QVC (especially the jewelry shows), "I Love Lucy", also "City Confidential", "Cold Case Files", and those kinds of shows but they sometimes creep me out.

Books:

The Bible is in a class all by itself because it is the Word of God. As a Christian, that is what I believe. It also happens to be the best selling book ever! It used to be in practically every hotel room in the world and it used to be taught in the schools. The Bible aside, the most recent book I've read is Dodd Darin's "Dream Lovers, The Magnificent Shattered Lives of Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee"... a very interesting book.

Heroes:

My real hero is the Lord. I don't know anyone else who would (or could) have done for me what He did. My only other hero on a human level would have to be Bobby Darin. Not only does his talent inspire me, he inspires me as a human being... his confident personality, his desire and ability to go after his dreams and make them come true. He was a natural born leader and he inspired uncommon devotion in most everyone who knew him.
