Spreading Freedom Like HIV

About Me

Black Mass Media started in the summer of 2003 in the heart, garage and out of the frustration of lead singer/songwriter Danny Baraz. With a distinct vision and an ever changing lineup Danny was relentless in the pursuit of like minded musicians. People who thought music should be more than a polished investment by record companies. But BMM truly started on the streets of Santa Monica and Venice in the late eighties. The influence of the skate/thrash scene had an immense effect on Danny and it changed his life forever. Bands like Suicidal Tendencies, Excel, Beowulf, No Mercy and Evol planted the seeds of outspoken outrage about politics and the social structure of America. In the Summer of 2005 Danny Baraz met visionary artist and prodigious bass player Stephen Hill. His monster bass virtuosity and big mouth made it apparent very quickly that this was a perfect fit.Shortly thereafter everything fell into place with the addition of Steve Moses on Guitar, Evan Weinand on Drums, Dj Geckoe on the 1's and 2's and Mark Trujillo on Lead Guitar. What came next was a masterful fusion of Hip Hop, Punk Rock, Metal and funk with an experimental flare that melded into a body of art that could not be ignored.Music has long been an artery for dissent. Now music and the media in general have become a tool to distract, placate and create a sense of emptiness in the lives of Americans. True patriotism is questioning the motives of people in power. Questioning the motives of Multi Media Conglomerates who clearly display an agenda other than journalistic integrity. But this is BLACK MASS MEDIA. We tell it like it is... to a good beat.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
