HOW I BEGAN AS A SINGER & SONGWRITER:
I started singing when I was 5 & got my first gig at age 13. I used to sing gospel music and I sang with one of the gospel greats...James Cleveland! Anyhow, some people used to make fun of the way I sang. But I didn’t let that stop me. While I was in Germany (in the Army), I sang with my first SECULAR band. It was really easy getting that gig. We were soldiers who were bored and living in a new country. I played keys because they wouldn’t let me sing. I quickly found that the only way for me to sing in that band was if I wrote a song. That’s when I got serious about song writing. I wrote a song called "Brighter Day" (still yet to be heard here on MySpace). To this day, people say it is one of my best songs .
As a singer/songwriter, I have been blessed to be in the right places at the right times. I have shared the stage/studio with the likes of Evelyn "Champaigne" King, Christopher Williams, Ray Charles, Tiffany, ASIA, and Rev. Horton Heat, to name a few.
