"Legato", by definition, is a musical term used to describe music in a smooth, even style without any noticeable break between the notes". The musical DUO "Legato" consists of a composer/producer/keyboard player by the name of Roland Apikelis, and a vocalist/lyricist named Genevieve. The two formed Legato after meeting in the studio recording a hip-hop project. Commonly compared to a Sade-meets-Lauryn-hill vibe, Legato spent years performing across the San Francisco Bay Area as well as embarking on a West Coast college tour in 2004-05. With the birth of Roland's first son and Genevieve's first solo project, Legato has taken a break from touring and recording for the Holiday Season. They will be performing for New Years Eve to start off the New Year right, and have a few songs written to intorduce in 2006. Roland will produce several songs for Genevieve's solo album and the duo look forward to having you enjoy their sound.
