ON VACATION!

About Me

"In one hand I hold a dream, the other, the possibility of it coming true. That was enough to begin" explained singer/songwriter/co-producer Kara as she embarks on her sublime journey into the music scene. Her new and upcoming album "True" captures the imperfections of life and turns them into renditions of the soul. Kara’s album is a tapestry of soul and contemporary R/B, coupled with the sweet sounds of rhythm to gravitate your heart."A Breath Away" depicts a girl who is lost in her own perception of herself and not in the truth that everyone else embraces. In a sense, she cannot let go of fears until she can truly appreciate "the solidity of her ground". "True" the playful and up-tempo song that inspired the title of Kara’s album describes a woman who wraps herself in confidence. She truly understands the element of who she is and validates it with her smile, her style, and sense of self, though it took a while. The fueled ballad "Suitcase" illustrates that resentment, anger, despair, and denial, are all counterparts of heartbreak. Derived from Kara’s experiences as a domestic violence counselor, the song "Help Me Let Go" relay the message that we often try to rescue others when all they really need is our unconditional support.Determined to have her music express the essence of who she is, Kara co-produced some of the songs on her album, including arranging and writing all of her lyrics. With that aspect in mind, one would assume that she has a broad background in music. However, its a surprise when people hear that she graduated with honors in Advertising/Marketing and has been a family counselor for over seven years. "Music is my source of solitude, an intrinsic part of my life. I dont need collective years of experience; it’s in my heart. Ive proven that I know enough with musical intuition, lessons, observations, and experiences to create a prodigious product...but I am not foolish enough to think that I can do it all alone. I’ve learned a lot but there is so much more to learn" expressed Kara. Many may have seen Kara grace the stage of Northern California’s hot spots individually and with her former group Aria, comprised of two other soloists. In 2005, She was featured on Wicked Mixs issue 96 for "Get You Home Tonite (A.I.O.U.)" with Jamie Fox, Pharelle, and Twista. Some may also recognize her from the song "King Me" featuring Darrel White, son of the legendary Barry White. It was created for The Margarita King’s national advertising campaign aired on MTV, VH1, and E. Kara has also sang the national anthem for various audiences, including for the Warriors game. When asked how this journey will continue, Kara responded, "I have waited a long time to arrive...my heart is the guiding force for my craft. It will not be compromised for anything. I hope to instill in my audience: the courage to dream, the ambience of laughter, and the appreciation of self, all of which has been confirmed as"True"
