Women who ROCK!
Nothing sounds better than a woman with an attitude and heavy metal guitars!
Music (exploring new bands, seeing local live bands, working with bands from the tech end.) Computers (building, and using for many types of applications.) Philosophy, many fields of science and discussions with likeminded people.
Creative people.
People who take a stand for what is right.
Both then and now, the Vietnam War and the war in Iraq are both wars, which we should not have entered, at least not in the manner in which we have. But in both cases criticism about our involvement in either war should never be directed towards the soldiers who had no choice to fight in these wars, criticism is rightfully directed to the political leaders who sent our soldiers there. The vast majority of those soldiers have joined our Armed Forces with the honest intention of protecting our country and that which it stands for. In the past 6 years, George W. Bush has abused his authority as commander-in-chief and has lied to the American people to gain support for this war, which in truth has severely undermined the safety and integrity of our country. The true reason we have been led into this war has been to benefit the personal interest GWB and of his largest financial supporters.
For anyone to stand up against these acts, is true patriotism, be it the millions of Americans citizens who have taken the effort to look at the true facts, and taken a stand for what they know is right, or whether it be musicians and other people who are in the public eye who stand up and use their ability to reach so many people, as a tool to educate and inspire their fans to act as well.
A revised version of a forum post I made in late 2003. It is just as valid now as it was then. I only removed the outdated pitch for Kerry, and replaced it with the part about musicians and the public eye and updated the number of years the current administration has been fucking us over. Kerry won in my state, because people here stud up, and spoke out their opinions to their neighbors and friends. You all have a voice, and if you work together you can make a difference. Every one counts!
Matthew Perlman,
The following are some of my favored artists from here on myspace. There is a considerable amount of diversity between them, and I fully recommend checking out the music of each one.

To start I prefer Indy over commercial in all genera. I have a very wide range of listening field, from old school Heavy metal, and modern Metal Core and Goth, to New Electronica and Trip Top. Most Country bores me very quickly (like 5 measures or less) and Opera is just outright acoustically offensive in my opinion. One of my favored songs is "That" written and performed by my friend Luana of GodboX. The lyrics have a lot of personal meaning to me, a few years ago before I knew about My space I traveled from Maine to NY to see her do a show there at a place called the Meow mix. I have never seen anyone play a 12 string acoustic guitar with the energy and drive, that she did that night. Meeting her in person I have found that her music is honest and portrays a few fragments of the wonderful person she is. If you have ever been in close a relationship where you felt that there were things that should have been said ether by you or your partner, yet it never seemed to happen, then her song "That" is definitely worth listening to. You can find a link to her from my friends list.Other bands I prefer include...
