About Me

This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!
From an early age it was evident that Shelly Evans was destined to live a life of music. Growing up as a “band kid” with a singer for a step-mom and steel guitarist for a dad, it was impossible for Shelly not to grow to love the music that was all around her. Whether she was singing into her hairbrush or singing out on the porch pretending that each blade of grass was an adoring fan, she was always the star of the show. Growing up with classic country in her veins, southern rock in her ears and her mother’s love of pop and R&B, Shelly grew to love all types if music and says her style is “just good music with a Texas twang”. Shelly cut her teeth on a honky-tonk bar and has worked with many musicians and bands across central Texas and sang for every fair and rodeo around. She has played to packed houses at:The Cotton Club & Steakhouse in Granger, TX Taz Country in Pflugerville, TX Bo’s Barn in Salado, TX Douglas Corner Café in Nashville, TN Coupland Dancehall, Coupland, TX Ropers Nightclub, Austin, TX The Horseshoe, Gatesville, TX The Ranch, Waco, TX Starlight Station, Killeen, TX Hill's Cafe, Austin, TXJust to name a few…Shelly also sings at various benefits, family gatherings and local town parades and festivals. The stage is where Shelly loves to be. Shelly has a voice that can soar to the rafters, give you chills from emotion and leave you wanting more. She has a natural beauty that radiates the room as soon as she enters and a sweet down home spirit that makes everyone she meets adore her. Her personality is one of pure heartedness as well as pure professionalism. She is a class act that is sure to be around for years to come. With a voice that reaches your soul and determination as her friend, she is sure to make it and make it big. Shelly is here to stay and she will not except less. So, when the chance arises to see her live, do not miss out. When the chance arises to work with her, know that you have been blessed because this star is shooting high.

Band Members: Here is a video for a song I wrote titled "Keep Him Safe". I wrote this from my perspective about my husband that works out of town putting in natural gas pipelines. We would be apart for sometimes months at a time. As the song came together though, I knew that the true subject of the song was soldiers and their families...those that give the ultimate sacrifice. So, I dedicate this song to all those that have to be apart to make a living...truck drivers, musicians, rodeo cowboys but especially those serving our country and their families. God Bless You! Hope you enjoy the song...This song and all of the ones on this site (except "Two More Bottles") were recorded at Awesome Works Recording in Holland, TX. by the great Steve Palousek. Thanks, Steve! "Two More Bottles of Wine" was recorded by Jere Stallings in his "garage" studio by me and my band...thanks Jere!
Influences: Way too many to list. I love the classics and a lot of the new. I really like the music Sugarland is putting out right now but I love the outlaws of country. Good music is good music...country or not...I like all kinds!
Sounds Like: I sound like Shelly Evans really...although I have been told that on the classics I sound like Tammy Wynette.
Record Label: Looking...
