The Lost Youth Theatre Company was founded in 1979, producing many successful shows, including Ralph Fiennes’ first appearance with us in Romeo and Juliet. In 1982 we moved into our own premises (450 Fulham Road), the basement gymnasium of the Methodist Church – which we converted into a marvellous theatre space. The performance space was of a quality rare in London, fully equipped with lighting and scenery. There was seating for almost 100 people and the adjoining cafe provided refreshment during intervals.During it 17 year tenancy in Fulham, LOST grew into a vibrant and prolific Company. While some groups were content with one play every six months, LOST aimed for at least 12 shows a year! These productions ranged from Lysistrata to Bouncers; Henry V to Cinderella and The Misanthrope to What the Butler Saw.In December 1999, the Company was forced to leave the building, due to a large scale redevelopment project. Now “homelessâ€, LOST survives as a touring company, hiring venues in and around the London fringe. However, that has not stopped us from continuing to produce a high standard of work aimed at young people. Our annual One Act Festival for new writers and directors has become ever more important in attracting new talent to the Company and maintaining our profile within the London fringe. We have also returned to the Edinburgh Festival each year with a diverse choice of classic shows and new writing. Now on the verge of regaining premises of our own the Company is launching itself into a full season of productions on the London Fringe. For more information on our forthcoming productions and audition dates click our website at www.losttheatre.co.uk
