Live. Learn. Love. Learn some more. Love some more. Always.*
Now we should live when the pulse of life is strong. Life is a tenuous thing, fragile, fleeting. Don't wait for tomorrow. Be here now! Be here now! Be here now!
Be here now.
This is how I would die into the love I have for you: as pieces of cloud dissolve in sunlight.
~ Jalal ad-Din Rumi
This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet.
~ Rumi
There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children...
One is roots; the other, wings.
~ Hodding Carter
I dwell in Possibility -
A fairer House than Prose -
More numerous of Windows -
Superior - for Doors -Of Chambers as the Cedars -
Impregnable of Eye -
And for an Everlasting Roof
The Gambrels of the Sky -Of Visitors - the fairest -
For Occupation - This -
The spreading wide my narrow Hands
To gather Paradise -
~ Emily Dickinson
The more powerful and original a mind, the more it will incline towards the religion of solitude.
~Aldous Huxley
Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.
~ Shel Silverstein
Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you truly Love. ~
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground. ~
Rumi
Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of Love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world...man will have discovered fire.
~Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.
~ Albert Einstein
The soul would have no rainbow had the eyes no tears.
~John Vance Cheney
“...and you yourself a sword will pierce
so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.â€
~ Luke 2:35
Kind hearts. Genuine Souls. Kindred spirits who smile easily, dance crazily and sing loudly. People I recognize even if we've never met.
Anam Cara ~ An Irish Blessing
May you be blessed with good friends.
May you learn to be a good friend to yourself.
May you be able to journey to that place in your soul where there is great love, warmth, feeling, forgiveness and grace.
May this change you.
May it transfigure that which is negative, distant, or cold in you.
May you be brought in to the real passion, kinship and affinity of belonging.
May you treasure your friends.
May you be good to them and may you be there for them; may they bring you all the blessings, challenges, truth and light that you need for your journey.
May you never be isolated.
May you always be in the gentle nest of belonging with your Anam Cara.
~ Anam Cara is Gaelic for Soul Friend~

There Will Be Blood. Hmmm. Maybe a tiny bit too esoteric for my taste...but I enjoyed what seemed a study in contrast...the promise and riches of heaven vs the promise and riches of earth and the corruption of man in between. I think? Sometimes I think I read too much into movies like this ... directly followed by: I'm sure I have missed the point all together for lack of thought about it. It took me two sittings to watch, definitely do not recommend viewing if you are at *all* sleepy.
Which I have or would watch more than once ...
Finding Neverland, Happy Feet, In Pursuit of Happyness, Shrek 3, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Constant Gardener, High Fidelity, Walk The Line, It's a Wondeful Life, Dream Girls, Garden State, The Usual Suspects, Eternal Sunshine, Ordinary People, Gladiator, A Knight's Tale

mmm. not really...except, Lost
I do occassionally fear though that the writers are making everything up as they go along...which is fine. Unless it ends up as a dream in which case I will never watch TV again. Unless* it is a "fast forward" dream ... and then that would be really cool.
I do like Heroes and Seinfeld reruns and Late Night Top Ten.
Right Now:
I am *still* reading all of the below...World Without End got rained on...fortunately I am 7/8ths through! I have misplaced Life of Pi. I look forward to rediscovering it. Meantime I am purusing Heal Your Life. Emotional and soul ailments manifested as physical ailments ... how to recognize them and how to avoid and/or heal them. Very basic reminders of good practices for living. Highly recommend and thank Cortney for steering me to it. :)
Life of Pi.
"I'll be honest about it. It is not atheists who get stuck in my craw, but agnostics. Doubt is useful for a while. We must all pass through the garden of Gethsemane. If Christ played with doubt, so must we. If Christ spent an anguished night in prayer, if He burst out from the Cross, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" then surely we are permitted doubt. But we must move on. To choose doubt as a philosophy of life is akin to choosing immobility as a means of transportation."

All my good manners have moved a thousand miles away and the heart and the mind are left angry with each other. The stars and the moon are envious of each other. Because of this alienation the physical universe is getting tighter and tighter. The moon says, "How long will I remain suspended without a sun?
~ Rumi
"She is a friend of my mind. She gather me, man. The pieces I am, she gather them and give them back to me in all the right order. It's good, you know, when you got a woman who is a friend of your mind."
