Without music, life is a journey through a desert

About Me

I've been told I have a child's spirit. I am positive, energetic, spontaneous, and outgoing. I have a tendency to take on more than I can handle (which is 3x's that of the average person). I am argumentative and quirky. I always say exactly what is on my mind, so you either love me or hate me. There are no lies, no stories, or drama allowed in my life. I live and preach the importance of reciprocal relationships and expect the same from everyone in my life. Most importantly, my friends are an integral part of my family.

My Interests

CULTURE! I love museums, arts, history, philosophy, and nature. I want to know why people are who they are. I love traveling and going on adventures. I love painting, drawing, taking photographs, scheming up new ways to take over the world and how to rid America of big business BS, discussing morals, politics, and gray matter, drinks in the garage with my friends, playing darts, litening to music in any form (I am especially fond of the family band hour in our dining room), learning something new everyday, and most of all inspiring, motivating, and enriching lives as well as being inspired, motivated, and having my life enriched by others.

I'd like to meet:

Those who I am intended to meet... The magnetic force of my energy and yours, surely will draw us together when the time is right.

Music:

I like a little bit of everything. Some of my favorites include Weazer, Cake, Fela Kuti, The Cure, Spoon, Moorcheba, The Shins, Bob Dylan, Portishead, Bjork, The Eels, Beastie Boys, Bob Marley, A Perfect Circle, Buena Vista Social Club, Ben Harper, and much much more. My commercial free station: http://www.pandora.com/people/areaton# THESE WERE FROM THE BEN HARPER CONCERT IN DETROIT!!!! NOW THOSE ARE SOME SERIOUSLY COOL CATS!!!!

Movies:

Super Troopers, 30 Year Old Virgin, I Heart the Huckabees, What the Bleep Do We Know, Amelie, Dancer in the Dark, American Beauty, Magnolia, The Matrix, American Pie

Television:

It is SATAN! I personally don't like to fall prey to the mind washing done by Corporate America, not to mention it is a huge waste of time! I would rather listen to music, but if I do actually sit down in front of the TV, I like The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Discovery and anything where I might actually learn something (I know, I'm a big nerd!)

Books:

Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Illusions, The Five People You Meet in Heaven and anything else that makes me ponder my philosophies. Also anything by Anne Rice, Stephen King, or Dean Koontz is fun when I have time to read for pleasure.

Heroes:

My Grandfather for teaching me to value myself and to do your best to understand and respect everyone even when they don't deserve it. And my son for making me realize that life is so precious.....This is my son contemplating the crash he just had on his dirt bike..
