I want it all. I want it now. I want to see it all. I want to do it all.
Anyone with a sarcastic sense of humor and a no bullshit policy.
The Clash, Street Dogs, Bad Brains, The GoGetters, Tom Waits, Iggy Pop, Hepcat, Dropkick Murphys, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Minor Threat, Stiff Little Fingers, MC5, Bloc Party, Snow Patrol, Interpol, The Editors, Muse, The Shins, Bauhaus, Black Flag, The Adicts, Flogging Molly, The Pogues, Bad Religion, Elvis Costello, Bosstones, etc... etc... need I go on? There's just too many to mention...
The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946), A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), Gaslight (1944), Breakfast at Tiffany's, Tank Girl, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Chocolat, Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Sin City, anything with Gary Oldman or Clive Owen in it.... and Moulin Rouge (okay, yeah, silly, but I enjoyed it).
Dead Like Me, Queer As Folk, The Office (UK Version)... Footballer's Wives, Absolutely Fabulous, now I've developed a recent addiction to Hotel Babylon and the good current ones: Heroes, Lost, Medium, and The Daily Show - it's much more informative than network news most days.
Can we change this to authors? I tend to find someone I like and read everything they've ever written.... so keeping that in mind... Alice Munro, Neil Gaiman, Bill Bryson, Tom Robbins, Lewis Carroll, Ian McEwan, Capote, William Shakespeare... Biographies of actually interesting people. Got any suggestions... I read too much.
My grandmother. Travelled the world in a cocktail dress with the platinum blonde hair of a starlet and never once looked back or left anyone behind. Lived on her own terms and never apologized for it. I miss her.
