Books:
All of Paulo Coelho's, but then again Chaucer and his drinkin'-womanisin'-livin'-life-to-the-hilt bunch o travellin' monks changed my life, while Dan Brown's contemporary take on an old tale also turned me on. Anyone ever heard of Berked Breathed of 'Bloom County' fame? ...aaand regardless of whatever anyone would say, the cheesiest, goriest, over the top you-can't-get-enough-drama of them all is William Shakespeare! If anything, he defined all present day soap operas and Bollywood hits! He (or whoever the ghostwriter was behind him) was about a few hundred years ahead of his time! Orwell taught me about nightmarish vision of the future with '1984' while his 'animal farm' taught me of proletarian politics, but it's Ray Bradbury and his 'Fahrenheit 451' that taught me to always ask why (I think most Americans should read this book, again). I can't wait for a decent movie take on it (the book, I mean; not America. Michael Moore and Borat did great jobs on that). The latest book am trying to crack is Jean Gelman Taylor's 'Indonesia: Peoples and Histories'. All I can say is that anyone who wants to learn about this Indo of our Nesia has got to grab a hold of this book.Anyway, am only a few miles within my literary journey and would love to hear from other pilgrims.
