Music:

It all started with a Eurythmics cassette in the 80s. I was about 7 years old, and NuWave was huge. I was infatuated with synthesizers immediately. I played the infamous Axel F riff on my pink and baby blue Casio every day.
Then came rap. 1989. 6th grade. Ton Loc, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice. Aww yeah. The fuckin' Humpty Dance. I loved it all.
8th grade came and went. Early 90s dance craze. Paula Abdul, DeeeLite, Janet Jackson. I could do a mean Running Man.
9th grade. Nirvana. The turning point. The end-all of my every feeling toward rap and dance. I thought from that point on, the guitar was my destined instrument of choice...
10th grade. Classic rock. 70s CCR, Beatles, Zeppelin, Cat Stevens, the Dead, Skynnard. What the fuck was I thinking with this phase?? ...
1994. 11th grade. Where I thought I finally had found myself musically. Mid 90s alternative and punk. Weezer, The Rentals, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Julianna Hatfield, TMBG, Mudhoney, The Cure, Voodoo Glow Skullz, The Pixies, Cranberries, Pavement, Nada Surf, Bad Religion, Conflict, Crass, NOFX, Guttermouth, Misfits, The Clash, Germs, Dead Milkmen....
Skip to early 2000. VNV Nation, Apoptygma Berzerk, Asssemblage 23, Echo Image, FLA, Funkervogt, Project Pitchfork, Covenant Blutengel, Hanzel Und Gretyl, Wumpscutt, Skinny Puppy.... Industrial, synth pop, and all of the stuff I grew up liking, I'm still in love with today. Except for the Beatles. I hate the fucking Beatles.
And, now ... I just want to listen to funny stuff: Electric Six, Tenacious D, Dethklok, and, well... not so funny, but extremely talented and awesome: Imogen Heap.
