About Me

Visit my etsy.com shop!
I suppose I should put something about myself in the "About Me" section. I'm a married lady. Went to college and got my degree in business..... because I needed a degree that was "practical".... so I would have something to fall back on I suppose. Now I'm back in school for an art degree. I only need three classes to finish up my A.A.S Fine Arts. I recently received a CSC in Mural & Large Scale Painting. I spent the summer of 2006 working on a 12x48 ft mural that you can find pics of in my pics section and on Flickr. I would also like to get an Arts & Crafts Production Certificiate; only because the certificate program has more focus on art classes than the A.A.S degree does. I already have a Trade Apprenticeship Certificate for Handmade Books. My handmade books and knit items can be found at the Appalachian Arts Center and in my Etsy shop The Crafty Kitten
If you stop by the Appalachian Arts Center be sure to check out the Quilt Squares on the outside of the building. I designed the "Virginia Star" which is located on the section of the building that sticks out a bit. I also helped paint all four squares.
I'm a proud member of BEST which is the Bookbinding Etsy Street Team. Etsy Books Blog
I'm also a member of 'Round The Mountain - Southwest Virginia's Artisan Network. 'Round The Mountain's Site
I have an artist's page on the Appalachian Arts Center website
My AAC Artist's Page
I'm currently an Assistant Leader for a Junior Girl Scout Troop. I'm having so much fun!
Statistics say that children laugh 400 times a day and adults only 15..... The hubby says I'm somewhere in the 800 range... I guess I have 2 inner child personalities.
Some things I like.... Cotton Candy, horror movies, thunder storms, September, Halloween, good music, & good friends.
I have a flickr account go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/coco8199/ to see my photos.

Books:

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.
Henry David Thoreau
For him that stealeth, or borroweth and returneth not, this book from its owner, let it change into a serpent in his hand and rend him. Let him be struck with palsy, and all his members blasted. Let him languish in pain crying out for mercy, & let there be no surcease to his agony till he sing in dissolution. Let bookworms gnaw his entrails [. . .] when at last he goeth to his final punishment, let the flames of Hell consume him forever. [sic] (Basbanes, 35)
Basically.... I pity the fool who touches my books.
LOL!
