*****The band started in 2002 and since then we have progressed and learned so much. We played all over the east coast and have played the worst venues and the best. All of us have had a crazy last year and have come to realize we all have creative differences. With that said, we are leaving "The Elderly" behind us. We are still all on good terms but with the differences we faced it just seemed like the best idea. We would like to thank everyone who has helped us along the way. All the bands we played with, all the great fans who supported us and we hung out with, and every venue that ever let us set up our equipment. We are going to leave the website up so when any of us come out with new projects we will be able to tell you about them. Look for new projects coming in the fall. Thanks for everything and keep your eyes peeled.******
The Elderly is a six-piece band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that blends a unique mix of jazz, pop, and rock to create their own dynamic sound at electrifying live shows, in the studio, and in their own original songs. Steve Rossis saxophone enhances the foundation of the band, Ryan Gebler on acoustic guitar and vocals, Josh Chilton on lead guitar, and Joe Parsons on keyboard, organ, and vocals. Will Dzombak on drums and bassist Mike Sebastian lead the rhythm section. Founded in 2003, The Elderly has steadily risen in the local ranks, and now, as its members are seniors in high school, has become a respected band throughout the city. The Elderly has opened for celebrated acts such as Virginia Coalition, The Samples, Missing Pages, Rookie of the Year, Waking Ashland, Sherwood, Throne and The Track Record. Often responsible for more attendance than the main act, the band consistently draws a solid number of local fans for its shows.Over a six-month period, The Elderly has recorded and produced its first full-length album, entitled Long Way Home. Released in February 2006, it features eleven original songs written by Ryan Gebler and Joe Parsons and the instrumentation of the entire band. This summer, The Elderly plans to tour Outer Banks, NC and possibly other locales in search of a wider audience. Already a favorite on the website MySpace, the group hopes to establish an even greater fan base as it improves and matures and as its one-of-a-kind sound catches on with the masses. The Elderly is now expanding to Washington DC, so if your around the DC area come check us out!!The band is always looking for shows so if you would like to see them or have suggestions email Will at [email protected]
