About Me

Born and raised in NYC, grew up in the 70's and 80's here and lived to tell about it. Supposedly a photographer, work as a photo editor. Trying to rekindle my art and my long absence from the local music culture.I live for art, rock 'n' roll, photography, film, novels - great and small, dancing, and the NY Yankees usually in that order, depending on the time of year. Oh, and romance and sex and all that groovy stuff.

My Interests

Music of course. I read a lot, am very left wing in my politics, and follow baseball as well, particularly the NY Yankees.

I'd like to meet:

I'm particularly trying to get in touch with my old friends, but also want to meet new people who are into the same things I am.

Music:

Basically I like punk, soul, garage, all kinds of rock'n'roll etc. Not going to list any bands because there are so many. I'm trying to get back into seeing live music as much as I can, so I definitely am trying to keep up with what's happening on that front.

Movies:

I used to be a film buff, now not so much. I particularly love old films, Bogart is my favorite actor. For contemporary films I like most film genres, even Hollywood stuff except comedies, romantic or otherwise.

Books:

I read a lot, Mostly I read genre fiction, mystery and sci-fi. I like hard-boiled, noir, detective novels, and contemporary sci-fi without too many space battles. Think Raymond Chandler, Phillip Kerr, Michael Connolly and Lawrence Block on the mystery end. For sci-fi, it's Ursula LeGuin, Dan Simmons, John Varley, early Orson Scott Card. I read a lot of classics as well, most recently all of Tolstoy's novels, and just read Lolita by Nabokov.

My Blog

subway music

Being raised in new york, I've seen a lot of subway music from the ridiculous to the sublime.  I go up and down with ignoring it, even the stuff that's decent, or paying attention to it even when...
