After spending a lifetime creating ROCK-N-ROLL as a DRUMMER, GUITARIST, SINGER, SONGWRITER, DEE-JAY, CLUB PROMOTER and "PSYCHEDELIC DEN MOTHER" to a slew of up and coming bands....NOW (firmly into my 40's) I find myself "PASSING THE TORCH", so to speak, by selling records and rock T-shirts to the young'uns at fleamarkets and record shows. ***** My career began in my native NYC, where I played most notably in THE OUTTA PLACE (one of the first 60's garage revival bands of the early 80's), FREAKS (MY vision of what a ROCK band SHOULD be with ex-hubby, HOWIE PYRO, 1986-1990), SPECIAL HEAD (a fun hard rock combo popular in the mid 90's) and....GET THIS: I was JOAN JETT in the world's goofiest (and probably most authentic) RUNAWAYS cover band called "(WE ARE) THE RUNAWAYS" that started as a HALLOWEEN gig, became EAST VILLAGE club darlings for a while and got a little to big for our spandex britches and satin gym shorts!******I moved to L.A. (VENICE BEACH specifically) in 1997 so I could be a full time beach bum. At age 33, I thought I was too old to pursue being a ROCK STAR, but my pal, TEXAS TERRI thought differently, so I played with her for a bit. I also really beefed up my drumming skills playing for a HOLLYWOOD band callled DOPPELGANGER which became VENUS 6...this prepared me for the phone call of a lifetime. My old pal, RUDI PROTRUDI of THE FUZZTONES had moved the NYC-based group to L.A. back in '87. I was asked to join in 1999 and did, playing drums for THREE EUROPEAN TOURS and the recording of the bands first studio album in over a decade, SALT FOR ZOMBIES. It was great to live my dream after having given up on it. Of course everything ended in drama and chaos. but as THE JEFFERSON AIRPLANE sang, "Life is change...How it differs from the rocks..." *****Now I focus on the athlete side of my ROCK-JOCK self. I took up full court BASKETBALL for my 40th birthday. I still play SOFTBALL (since starting at age 7). My current dream is to go to DEALER'S SCHOOL and move to LAS VEGAS ASAP where I hope to deal cards, dee-jay and start a cheezy casino band that plays 60's and 70's POP-ROCK covers...stuff like THE GUESS WHO, THREE DOG NIGHT and THE GRASS ROOTS....and live happily ever after (I hope).
