About Me

Not The Average is a group of believers who realize that our World will never be affected if we continue to view God as average and live life in conjunction with this belief. No person with the desire to live a mediocre life has ever affected culture. Please do not be fooled, our culture needs to be affected and it is time for us to take the passions God has given us to do so. Those of us who contribute to Not The Average are just like you…we work and play in the World, yet refuse to be satisfied with it. Fight with us to change the picture of who God is in our World and live a life that is not average.“[T]o build a new world from nothing if nothing in our world could be salvaged, it was one of the best days of my life, a day during which I lived my life and didn’t think about my life at all.” Jonathan Safran Foer From Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

The Story

No Bible?

When I was the youth pastor of a small church in San Diego, I became very disheartened with the fact that such a small percentage of my students came to church with their Bibles. Without really think...

The Theology of Hip Hop

Sometime in my early childhood I learned the joy of music. I don't know whether it was from my Fisher Price Toddler Boom Box or listening to Michael Jackson (black Mike&. not white Mike), but I was ho...
