daisy's delight - The name is inspired by Ray's great-grandma, a marvelous woman who delights in her Lord, delights in music, and delights in her family.
Ray has been developing his talent for several years, carefully studying the styles and writing techniques of other singer/songwriters, in a quest to find his own sound. This has produced thought provoking and honest lyrics that reflect his personal struggles and faith. He feels called by God to be uncompromising in expressing His love and grace through music.
Much of what drives daisy's delight is Rays vision, the product of several years of dreaming, writing, playing local coffee houses, and recording demos (a nearly endless stream of them, over the last 10 years!). He was a solo artist during this period, and created quite a bit of recorded material in various collaborations, some of which will undoubtedly be revisited by daisy's delight.
Ryan has been playing music for several years, performing with his church's regular and youth worship teams. His first (and only other) band, The Beefy Nachos, enjoyed brief popularity with about 15 people in the mid 90s. He went to Greenville College to study recording technology, engineered a couple of demo projects, and then decided to take a year off to find himself. After several years of searching, he came back to his roots his faith restored in a God that forgives sinners, and His Son, who came to redeem the lost and heal the broken.
Ryan and Ray's paths first crossed in 1998, and though both had an interest in music, it took a while for things to come together. This project began in 2005 as Ryan engineered a guitar and vocal demo for Ray in his simple home studio, and has evolved slowly into what is now daisys delight. Join us as we experiment and grow, Come What May!
