We are finally back and writing new material!!!

About Me

Update: As many of you know our hard drives crashed and we lost a TON of our music. For a while that incident took the wind out of our proverbial "sails". Well - we have regrouped and have started recording/writing again. We will keep all of you posted when we have new stuff posted! Thank all of you for your support through this long hiatus! -Bruised ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ Bruised, though a new band, are not new to the music industry. Many of the members have been in major label bands through out their careers. "Bruised was birthed out of the frustration of music becoming so shallow and empty - no susbstance just fluff." says Bruised’s Kalor. "We want to make people think again - think about life, love, pain, hurt, deception, hypocrisy - you know things that the human race has in common." continues Kalor. And dealing with it is something that each band member knows very well. Each have had their experiences of the good and the bad of the human condition. From the brutal murder of close relatives to hypocrisy in churches and government - each song takes on "the system" - a system that band member Forbidden feels is "run by power monger tyrants who are in it for the most part to oppress the people they should be serving." From the heavy guitar, bass and drum laden "Bleeding" to the Nine Inch Nails-esc medium-tempo "Persecute" each song takes on a new form and way of addressing the plagues that are riddling their way through government and most churches. So-where did the name Bruised come from? "Well it started out as another name" (laughs) Kalor. "It originally started out with an idea to produce a good industrial album. While discussing band names - somebody was talking about this cheesy show called "Land of the Lost". The one thing that each of us thought wasn’t so cheesy were these creatures called "sleestacks" that seemed to scare the crap out of us.They were these deformed lizard type creatures with snake type tongues -they had this sinister evil hissing sound. It dawned on us that maybe we should name the band Sleestack. It sounded industrial and hard edged - like the sound we were creating in the studio. It also seemed to represent our origins as a band." So from Sleestack to Bruised -what took place? Kalor continues, "when we searched band names - we found another band named "Sleestack". So back to the drawing board. By now we had been recording this album for over three years and our lives had somewhat changed. The words that kept coming to us were words like - pain, beaten, bruised." The words would form and transform the music but also the name of the band - Bruised. "We really wanted a name that described the human condition and that included us." says Dukar. Who from personal experience, knows what it means to be Bruised. So what do the band members think seperate them from the countless other bands trying to make their way and name in the music industry? "Well" says Kalor "first I would hope the quality of music and songs, but more importantly our passion for truth and honesty in a world full of hypocrisy and lies. Hopefully our fans see us as transparent, real people who they can relate to through our music. We don’t care about awards and prestige but about the people who our music reaches." Each of the band members agree - its not about platimun, gold, or any other earth metal but about reaching their fans and people with a message that they are not alone. (Interview by Cidis)
