CRYGIRLCRY

Perfection In Duality, Defection in Love....

About Me

Frontwoman Louise Distras writes possessed of a brittle mind, anger and rejection, creating music of singular power and riveting emotional intensity.
The band's unique sound of cutting - grunge - guitar riffs, soaring vocal lines and a bruising, pounding rhythm section will demand your attention - and this is what separates them from the rest of the rock scene.

CRYGIRLCRY News:
21/07/08
Well CrygirlCry is officially one year old, and it's been a busy one for us!.
...Being nominated as finalist's for the Best Female Rock Band in the UK then later finding ourselves sat with a very drunk Tony Wright from Terrorvision at The Glasswerk New Music Awards in London....being interviewed alongside The Courteeners and Foals in Loudnews Magazine, a headline tour of The UK....recording,recording and more recording....endless gigging....
We are currently putting the finishing touches to our new record, which will be available in August, trying to pay the rent, writing new material and getting ready to go on tour again in the very near future!
Thankyou to absolutely everyone who has listened our music, given us a gig and helped us in any way shape or form, without you it would've been nothing.
We'll see you all very soon!

CrygirlCry's new self titled record is now available from the band at all live shows.
Online distribution will be available soon.
CrygirlCry PRESS:
For some, grunge never died, it simply bastardised and named itself ‘Nickelback’. While the Americans commercialised the sound, the purists refined and put their own stamp on the genre. Enter CrygirlCry, a fierce 3 piece with serious credentials. Fronted by the oh so hot Louise on vocals and guitar, they have battled the elements in a genre and business that tends to favour male rock stars. Undeterred here they are with ‘Skin ‘n Bones’, rough and ready, cut ‘n paste grunge with a hint of sleaze for good measure. Grunge never died, it just upped sticks and moved into the hearts of a new disaffected generation.
Tom Newton,LOUDNEWS MAGAZINE
"In the face of the elitist, sexist and short sighted nature of the music business, it was refreshing to see CrygirlCry, a female fronted outfit with lashings of passion and talent. Singer and guitarist Louise, has more than what it takes to fill the boots of any of the male rock bands at present, and then some. Open your eyes to this band, beneath the sultry and sassy exterior is a promising songwriter with a great future ahead.....It was a clear cut case. CrygirlCry should have topped the bill and are set to do so in the not too distant future when they headline the ‘Grunge Revival Tour’."
THE WAKEFIELD EXPRESS
"This Is How My Head Explodes wastes no time in exploding into driving riffs that lead into a blast of musical and verbal indignation.
It's nevertheless clear that CryGirlCry write with feeling - a sense of righteousness even - and when the last clever lyricists have climbed off the bandwagon to spend more time with their dictionaries, those values will still be the key to a good song.""

David Pickersgill - THE WAKEFIELD EXPRESS
"Singular voice and brittle sound give this metallesque pop-rock something a bit more than the usual... I like it!! 8/10"
Bandman.CO.UK

"Angsty, hormone driven, depressed rock. Well performed and written by people who don't seem to like themselves very much - or is it just a pose? - 7/10
