Elwood Caine

Elwood Caine is a bluegrass band based in Oslo, Norway. With an acoustic sound consisting of guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and the upright bass, topped with lush vocal harmonies, the music evokes imagery of the plains of Kentucky to the mighty Appalachian Mountains. Their repertoire is traditional yet fresh, mixing golden oldies with newer and even obscure songs Elwood Caine thought deserved some new attention. From soulful ballads to over-the-top uptempo numbers showcasing blazing solistic contributions. All of this in a traditional bluegrass- and hillbilly style with roots going back to the thirties and forties, ispired by legends like Bill Monroe and his bluegrass boys, the Stanley brothers and Flatt & Scruggs.
