About Me

It's not easy being a highly idiosynchratic emotionally unstable skinny pale white boy, but somehow I make it look like it. I am engaged in full-time work and full-time drinking. What's the moral of today's little story? Mark Twain said, "life is what happens when you're making other plans". Indeed. That's why I make no plans- with the notable exception of my goal to attain the Presidency of these United States in the year 2016. Yes. All is well. The Bible tells us that "the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away." Sage advice. We would do well to remember it, and to use it as an axiomatic anchor for our daily trials and tribulations.Go to: http://kevan.org/johari?name=Kleve

Music:

I now play trumpet for the incomparably awesome afro-electronic band Mifune! Get hip at http://www.myspace.com/mifunesound .Listening-wise, right now I'm on a jazz binge. Mostly stuff from 1955-70. Mostly post-Charlie Parker pre-Bitches' Brew stuff. I also love electronic music. I'd never say no to 20th century classical.

Movies:

Wes Anderson is the boss. Terry Gilliam, David Lynch, Alfred Hitchcock, David Fincher, and Darren Aranofsky are honorable mentions.

Television:

Turn it off. You're better than that.

Books:

All across the map, mostly philosophy, history, sociology, religion, and the like. I'm on and off with fiction. I most recently read Ulysses and Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by Joyce, and Miles Davis' autobiography.

Heroes:

George Orwell, Gandhi, Miles Davis, and now Frank Zappa.
