Which Guitar Player Are You?

Joe Satriani
You are Joe Satriani! You're an outstanding guitarist, definetely one of the best on the planet, and one of the most well known. When people think of soloist guitar players, you come to mind. Not only that, but you're a great teacher. You have a style that makes those that listen to you groove.
Quizzes by myYearbook.com -- the World's Biggest Yearbook! These three songs were improvised, i mean that when i started to record i had no idea about what i would play... that's why there are mistakes but it doesnt matter coz it still sounds pretty good i think. I started playing bass some years ago, i teached myself how to play bass during a year by learning the bass licks of a band called Rage Against The Machine. The heavy groove and the "funky" aspect of the songs is quite interesting and it was a good way to learn how to play bass. I started jamming with everybody and i was in 5 bands at the same time. One day, i decided to take lessons. My teacher was a true master of the guitar, a real accomplished guitarist. He tought me how to play bass and made me discover Joe Satriani...I took interest in Satch. Its true that the first albums Joe's albums, eveything was focused on the guitar.I took interest in satch's way of playing. Then i got better and i was trying to play the guitar part of Surfing With The Alien on my bass! I also tried to modify the bridge of my bass as i wanted to have a trem! But it didnt work... When i moved to Qatar, where i have spent a year,my parents decided to offer me a guitar. There were all kinds of old guitar shop with an uncountable number of copies and unknow brands. I found an Ibanez guitar shop, and i bought an RG 470CB, with V8, V7, and S1 ( satriani and vai signed pickups) and with a special blue/black finish, and a roland amp that modelises the Mesa Boogie Rectifier sounds and also boss effects. So.. i dropped the bass! What is amazing is that with this pickups and this amp, the tone and the colour of the sound i get is really close to satriani's. As when i started playing bass, during the first months i played a lot every day because i believe intense practise is the best way to get better in little time. While i was in Qatar, i started teaching guitar to who wanted and i did it free because i was not selling "techniques" and "licks" but i was transmitting music. I started playing guitar one year ago, and i was get better everyday. In some months i could play some of satriani's songs, i listened to him eveyday. I try to learn from every guitarist that i hear and from anything. I believe you have to make your own way, copying could be a good way to learn how to play guitar but them you have to move on something else! I really want to thanks you all for being my friend, you all rock! ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------EX TREME GUITAR TECHNIQUE TIPS ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------------There are plenty of crazy things you can do with the guitar Take the bar of the tremolo out, and slide on the high E string around the 20-24 frets with it ( do it only on one string, and if you have a whawha pedal, open it to the max). You will get a smoth "scream". Then slide above the pickups it will sound ever better !! then you can try on the G string arount what fret you want you can even hit the strings with the top of the bar on the low E strings . Keep shreddin'--------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------EXTREME GUITAR TECHNIQUE TIPS 2 ---------------------------------------------Start trilling between the first and third fret on the A string and with the your right hand first finger'top slide lightly on the same string above the pickups. Its like when you want to make an harmonic. keep shreddin'--------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------NOW I HAVE A NEW JOE SATRIANI-LIKE GUITAR. I CHANGED THE PICKUPS ON MY IBANEZ, IT IS THE NEW PAF JOE AND THE NEW MO'JOE (THESE COMBINATION OF PICKUPS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE JS1200). ON MY GUITAR, THE WOOD (MAPLE FOR THE NECK AND JAPANESE BASsWOOD), THE TREM ( edge pro) AND THE PICKUPS (PAF JOE AND MO'JOE) ARE THE SAME THAT ON JOE SATRIANI'S GUITAR, I HAVE THE SAME FEATURES SO NOW I HAVE A GUITAR SIMILAR TO THE ONE OF JOE !!!!!!!!!! ABOUT MODES AND IMPROVISATION...

Some guitarists need to "think" while playing. They need to know in which tonality, key they are in. My case is a bit uncommon. In fact i don't know any note on the fretboard. I learned how to play S...
