About Me

Born stockton calif 1957,I was raised in the country Linden ca,went to highschool linden high, for enertainment I hunted every day when I graduated I moved to berkeley 1975 to live with my cousin, Dave Cree to work for my uncle Fred Herrera,he owned a nightclub Keystone Berkeley the club held a thousand people and was very cool a block away from berkeley campus, we served beer ,soda,apple juice we were open 7 nights a week,3 to 5 bands a night,national, international acts every body that was anybody,within a couple of years Iwas managing the club and living there in 1982, I moved over to the stone nightclub took over becoming the night manager and lived inside till 1994 when the club closed,In the 60..s,70..s 80..s90..s we had several clubs all holding a thousand or so people, Keystone palo alto, keystone stockton, there I saw several trends of music evolve when punk first emerged, new wave,the first time blondie played west coast it was at berkeley, thrash, and many band were hanging out there before they got into music like metallica,all the great bluseman played there and glam got started out on the west coast by people like johnny thunders, not to mention jerry garcia, joe satrania, ect I saw every acts soundcheck even before the public and had many party..s every night but that..s a different story *** LAYOUT: *
