Rebembering classic divas of old, while pushing ahead to create new visions.
Other artists and creative people. Basically everyone, because we're all creative people!Tribal Days with Aubre:
Rock n' Roll, Swing, Rockabilly, dance music, breaks, house and ambient. I also love vintage Arabic Classical music from the 60's and 70's. I love the Strokes, the Killers, Felix da Housecat, Miss Kitten, Goldfrapp, The Horrors, Brian Setzer, Big Sandy, local LA Rockabilly/Psychobilly, honky tonk, country and anything my boyfriend is currently listening to. Too many to list. I am a caffeine addict, so I like my music to be around 140 BPM accordingly!
I like movies with fantastic costumes and sets like: Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Showgirls and Moulin Rouge. When it comes to movies, eye candy, or stupid humor, tto me is more important than story line. I like Charlie's Angels and Will Farrell movies. I also love little girl princess movies and, of course, anything with Anne Hathaway. I really have an attention deficit disorder when it comes to movies, so need to do activities simultaneously, such as: dancing, singing, knitting, eating or texting. No boring or sad movies, who wants to be sad?
I love TV because I only have to pay attention for 30 minutes and get breaks. I like anything with dance: Dancing with the Stars, So you think you can Dance?, Step it up and dance. Search for the Next Pussycat Doll. I love Food Network because all I can usually think about are carbohydrates. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is my favorite. I love a good burger, fries and beer, but just try to get me to drink cheap champagne! I also love Top Model, What Not to Wear, LA Ink, Miami Ink, the History Channel, and the Sci-Fi channel (thanks to my mom I know WAY too much about Star Trek!).
Bukowski, Thoreau, Shakespeare, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Mark Twain, American colonial history, philosophy, metaphysics, sewing manuals and cookbooks! I enjoy books on tape. These are things that I somewhat recall reading and enjoying once. Really, I read so many books in college I'm still burnt out! Generally I prefer truth over fiction.
