Producer/Arranger/ Keyboards

About Me

A classically trained pianist, Doug graduated from the Eastman School of Music where he studied piano performance, orchestration and arranging. After graduation he moved to New York City where he quickly established himself among the highly competitive world of New York’s best studio musicians and sidemen.
Despite his classical training Doug has become known as first call for keyboards to many top rock and pop producers and film composers and has since racked up a diverse list of album credits. Despite his busy performing schedule he has managed to cultivate a growing career as a producer and arranger as well.
He has recorded and performed with many of today’s biggest artists including Rihanna, Celine Dion, Shawn Colvin, Roseanne Cash, Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias,Tears For Fears, Cyndi Lauper, Clay Aiken and the Backstreet Boys to name just a few. He has also been featured on the sound track of many top movies including Happy Feet, X-Men 3, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Tenacious D the Pick Of Destiny, Miami vice, Two Weeks Notice, Be Cool, Mr. 3000 and many others.
Touring with singer songwriter Shawn Colvin led to producing and arranging her critically acclaimed “Holliday Songs and Lullabies” which showcases his uniquely beautiful string and horn arrangements. After touring with Shawn he participated in world tours with both Enrique Iglesias and Tears For Fears.
In 2005 Doug was asked to contribute his production talents to the critically acclaimed benefit album “Our New Orleans” that was put out by Nonesuch Records. He produced tracks for the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the Wild Magnolias and Dr Michael White. The funds from this record have raised over $1Million that will be used to build homes in New Orleans.
Doug produced and arranged the album “Build A Bridge” for singer/actress Audra McDonald. Her first solo record in four years, Build A Bridge looks beyond her usual repetoire and explores music written by contemporary singer/songwriters. He also produced the album "Talk To Me" for former New Kids On The Block member Joey McIntyre. Joe performed the updated standards from this album on the "Dancing With The Stars" tour.
Most recently Doug arranged Rihannas hit singles "Umbrella" and "Hate That I Love You" for orchestra for her appearance on the American Music Awards.
Doug now lives in LA with his wife Ellen and daughters Isabel and Olive.
