I am a classical guitar performer/teacher based in Carbondale Il. I'm currently completing my masters degeree in guitar performance at Southern Illinois University. I received my bachelors in music while studying with Joseph Breznikar at SIU. After graduation I was accepted as a teaching assitant to Mr. Breznikar. During my graduate studies I have expanded my work through many private students and numerous public performances. In 2004 I was selected by the Cedarhurst Chamber Music Society as a featured artist in their Young Artists Performing Series. The performance, at Mitchell Museum in Mt.Vernon, Il., was accepted with high critical acclaim. I have also performed with the Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra. Performances in the community include various grape vineyards in the Southern Illinois region, numerous coffee shops, weddings, corporate/departmental banquets, and a multitude of school functions. I was also a weekly performer at Harrah’s Casino in Metropolis Il. during the summer/fall of 2005. In addition to many private guitar students, I also held a teaching position at John A. Logan Community College as Applied Lessons Instructor. I am a member of a duet named Duetto Arioso, with mandolin player, Michael Scott. Some of the music of Duetto Arioso can be heard on this page.
This year I have been rewarded the James Walker Presidential Fellowship in honor of late SIU president James Walker.
