About Me

Having traveled through the galaxies and many suns Rocdusa’s influences are many yet he’s been able to master his audio styles and stamp them with his signature sound. As a producer and dj Rocdusa stands out in a time where no one wants to carve out their own place but would rather sound like the rest. Having stuck to this idea has made his road to success longer yet it’s given him a sound like no other.
The producer side of Rocdusa has been in the game since the early 90’s starting in Seattle, Wa. Having produced for many local acts and eventually producing an EP that got rap artist Kuba a publishing deal with Polygram. Then further doing tracks for Sir mix-a-lot and Jazz Lee Alston a singer on his Rhyme Cartel label who had two of Rocdusa’s tracks lisensed to MTV’s “the Real World”. Shortly after he began working with Shyan Selah a multi-talented vocalist and songwriter after which they formed a group called Rainy Days with singer Jessica Sands. The group moved to Los Angeles and signed a production deal with Nfocus Ent. and recorded an EP that was set to release along with a tour overseas, but infighting within the group led to their break-up and the deal fizzled without all the members intact.
With a few years away from the music biz Rocudsa’s hunger began to resurface. Connecting with Shyan Selah again and producing all 12 tracks on Shyan’s debut album “Concrete City” set to be released worldwide on Oct. 31st, 2007 through BNW/Koch/Universal. It will certainly showcase Rocdusa’s beat expertise and Shyan’s superstar artistry. The two already teamed up for campaign songs for Royal Elastics shoes/apparel and Rockstar energy drink, as well as the title track “Concrete City” co-produced with J. Dancsak featured on the “One love: True ballin 2 DVD” featuring the top NBA stars. As you see Rocdusa is busy building his resume and securing his place among hip hop and music’s elite.
As a dj Rocdusa finds a way to literally blend styles upon styles and having it all make sense. His song selection and blends have crowds moving their feet, asses, and what ever else they intend on shaking. Being self taught and dj’ing for only a little over 3 years you would think this cat had been on the decks for a least a decade after hearing him play. As one of his admirers had said “you mix the old with the new, having girls who want 50 cent dancing to gangstar and dudes who listen to talib kweli getting their freak on to too short and ying yang twins, that sh*ts crazy!” Combining his dj and production skills you can always catch a remix or an artist that he’s produced in his sets at one of his two residencies. Having played many of the LA clubs, industry parties, and celebrity events, the bottom line is that Rocdusa gets down. Whether on the turntables or in the studio Rocdusa is set on making his mark in the music business.
