America’s Realist. This isn’t some cocky, arrogant rap name he has given himself, it is the truth. As you begin to listen to A.R.’s rhymes you will soon discover that he is different.Randon grew up in Silver City, New Mexico, a small town where teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, death from DWI and poverty run rampant. Raised by his dad, along with his younger brother and sister. A.R. started listening to rap when he was only 8-years-old. At a very young age, A.R. realized that he had a very strong passion for hip-hop music. Some of his inspiration came from other rappers that he looked up to, as a young child. The rappers that influenced Randon in his earlier years were; NWA, Rakim, LL Cool J, 2pac, Nas, Biggie and Jay-Z just to name a few. Although Randon was very young when he first started listening to rap, he knew that he had a passion for rap much stronger than anything else in his life. He was so influenced by the music, he began dreaming of doing what he loved, Hip-Hop.Randon started writing poetry when he was 12-years-old. He was able to express himself through his poems, but knew that something was missing... music. When Randon was 17, he began putting beats to his poems and started rapping. He was amazed at how quickly his talent grew as a raper/songwriter. In the summer of 2004, A.R. and his brother, Jezreal, started a rap group called ILWITTS. As a group they have recorded 6-7 demos and also released a retail-ready CD two years ago, called In Love WIT The Struggle. That CD has sold close to 2000 copies. Since then, A.R. has recently recorded an EP. called: My Demo is Better Than Your Album. Jezreal has also recorded 2 full length CD’s; The Truth is Back, and Jez-Dilla, a tribute to the late great J-Dilla. Over the years, A.R.’s talent has grown far beyond his expectations. The ability and versatility he has as a song writer is phenomenal. He has a style and confidence that is his own. After becoming a father of 3 beautiful little girls, and marrying his wife, A.R. decided to stop writing mad and angry songs. A.R. wanted to focus on things people can relate to and be inspired by, even though some of these things are still very negative. His goal is to bring back reality and feel good rap.A.R. has stretched his ability as a song writer. He is able to write radio friendly and catchy raps with contagious hooks, but he is also able to write very lyrical rhymes touching on a variety of subjects from Hurricane Katrina to his opinion on the killers of 2pac and Biggie. He can touch any parents heart with the song he wrote about his daughters, and also write about deep dark memories from his past. Randon has an ear for good hooks and melodies. The versatility A.R. has with music allows him, not only to write rap songs, but also write songs from other genres. His talent knows no boundaries.Randon’s latest musical effort has caught the attention of many people in his community. The Meth Song is a dramatic representation of a true story about a young girl who becomes addicted to methamphetamine, gets clean and relapses only to lose all she has to the deadly drug.Randon has a very strong passion to help people. Although his passion started with rap 18 years ago, it is now lead by the desire to help others through his music. After recording The Meth Song, Randon sought out people in his community to help him get the anti-meth message out. Within only 3 weeks, Randon had recorded his demo and was offered by a local mulit-media studio (Global Studios), to shoot a music video of The Meth Song. Soon he will be traveling to city’s and towns with the first lady of Nevada Dawn Gibbons, Don Richter, the producer of the music video, and recovered meth addicts to promote the anti-meth movement. Randon and his wife are also in the process of starting a nonprofit organization to help underprivileged youth and also families affected by abuse; alcohol, drugs, etc.Randon writes about real life! He doesn’t rap about nonsense like cars and jewelry. Randon is bringing the truth to the light, one song at a time. The Meth Song
