3rd_Heaven

His name is Carl R. Payne II. He was born in Shreveport, La., and raised in Houston,Tx. Carl spent over half of his life eluding the call that God had predestined him to become. But the Love and compassion of Jesus Christ was far stronger than his own selfish ambitions and He surrendered his life fully unto the purpose of His(Christ's) ministry. And oh, what a wonderful decision that was for him. God has done more for him in his life now than even the president of the united states could accommodate. Blessings of every kind, including the heartaches and pains that are avoided being called "Blessings," have been a great part of his walk in Christ. Today, Carl is one of three members of an unique gospel rap group called "3rd Heaven." In this group he does more than just perform, the group does a ministry for the Lord! He has ministered with his group, 3rd Heaven, in many areas of the northern parts of California such as Oakland, Hayward, San Jose, San Francisco, Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Patterson, and many more that is most definitely not forgotten. He has also performed in Southern California's Los Angeles for his good friend Janie Bradford who has become a prominent part of Motown's legendary history. She co-wrote 'Money' That's What I want with Berry Gordy. Her hits,Too Busy Thinking About My Baby (Marvin Gaye) (Phil Collins),Your Old Stand-by (Mary Wells),All the Love I've Got (The Marvelettes), Time Changes Things (The Supremes),Contract on Love (Stevie Wonder),Hip City Pt. II (Junior Walker) just to name a few, have easily stood the test of time. In addition, she founded and actively produces the Heroes And Legends Awards (HAL) which aids young people in the community to achieve their dreams of a career in the performing arts, in which Carl was honored to perform at with his group 3rd Heaven. God has blessed Carl with a lovely wife, now 17 years of marriage, and eight wonderful children...(one of which is a member of 3rd Heaven) And now currently resides in Patterson, Ca.
