About Me

“One day, I opened my eyes and had something to talk about” as Mic-Rob speaks of his arrival to Hip-Hop as an emcee. Mic-Rob born, Michael Robinson, in Inglewood California on March 18th 1980, sees the world as a gold mine just waiting to be found. His intuitive insight to life and pain the same, molds his smooth flow and witty rhymes into truth. Recognized as one of Reno’s nicest emcees, Mic-Rob has a dramatic flair every time he picks up the “mic”. In 2001 Mic-Rob linked up with a group called the Perfect Strangers, it was here that he learned it’s not only what you say, but it’s how you say it. Mic developed a flair for punch lines and metaphors to say the least. In 2003 Mic disbanded from the group, and began to work on his solo career, five years later here he is Mic-Rob emcee. With his knowledge learned and gained about hip hop over those five years, Mic-Rob is better than ever with a more meaningful perspective on life, love and heartbreak. “I grew up around violence and drugs my whole life, believe me it’s nothing to glorify” – Mic Rob 2006With his highly anticipated album titled “Waking Up in Reno” on the way. Mic develops a perspective of someone from a city like Los Angeles or any big city alike realizing they are in a town like Reno. Waking Up in Reno carries a very talented team of producers such as Dialect, Dash, Fifth mass all of the Digital Underground family, along with production from up and coming Trev-illy a resident of Reno, NV . With songs like his fierce street single “Chin Chill Ya” and the album’s lead single “Strange” Mic is sure to make people feel good about music.Black Avenue Entertainment 2008
