My passions are: Music, books, obnoxious but not mean-spirited humor, comparative religious studies, photography, fashion design, film, dance, the politics of gender, racial and social equality, freedom of artistic expression, and World Peace.
I'd like to meet:
I enjoy talking to warm-hearted people with similar interests. I would be interested in meeting any like-minded songwriters, musicians, and music producers, as well as other artists and creative people who would like to work together on a project or just rant about the state of music and the world today.
I'd like to change the world. Anybody else up for the game?

Music:
Music is my first love and I enjoy most genres of music, especially rock (classic and modern), blues, folk, world music, alt-country, vintage country, jazz standards, some hip-hop, soul, funk, disco, pop and metal tunes. What I'm listening to at the moment: Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse, Shakira, Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams and Jim Ladd on KLOS.
Movies:
The Irish film, "Once" was the best film I've seen in the past year.
Television:
Not much for T.V. these days, but I always try to catch The Colbert Report with Steven Colbert and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and I also watch Countdown with Keith "Ubergeek" Olbermann on MSNBC. Letterman, the Scottish dude and Ellen are usually on the DVR. Mazel tov, Ellen!
Books:
A few favorites are: "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz, "How To Be Happy, Dammit" by Karen Salmansohn and Don Zinzell, "The Missing Peace: Artists and the Dalai Lama" by Randy Jayne Rosenberg, "The Power Of Myth" by Joseph Campbell, "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou, and The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. A few of my favorite poets are: Rumi, Rainier Maria Rilke, Arthur Rimbaud, and Walt Whitman.
Heroes:
I try not to believe in heroes. I believe we all need to be heroes in our own lives. There are many people I admire, though, and the list is very long, but I greatly admire His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. He is a great spiritual leader and wise man who radiates warmth and intelligence. I had the priviledge of attending a few spiritual teachings and a public talk this year given by the Dalai Lama and was greatly moved by his words. He has also written many books, all of them worth reading, but I especially like the books "Healing Anger" and "The Art Of Happiness: A Handbook For Living".
