THUNDERHEAD

Hi, my name is Tina and I dedicate this site to THUNDERHEAD.
I created this site for everyone who is still a big fan of this fantastic band that gave us so much pleasure with their music and especially their live performances from 1989 to 1995 when THUNDERHEAD eventually split. - But what happened? What went wrong?
Let's start with the year 1988...
After the exit of their singer „Charlie Huhn“ (ex-Ted Nugent) in 1988 Victory was looking for a suitable new shouter via advertisement. While people in great number applied for this vacant job as frontman, a certain Manager from N.Y. who liked Ted and did hear of Victory's problem, called the band’s attention to Ted Bullet who that time played with his own band “Thrillz” in several local bars in N.Y. and New England.
Soon Ted got a phone call from the Victory Management in Florida and was asked directly if he would like to try it with that band Victory in Germany. Even though Ted has never heard of this band before, he thought ‘why not, if it doesn’t work then I will just have a two-week vacation in Europe’ where he has also never been before. So, at the end of April '88 Ted came to Hannover, Germany to introduce himself to the band Victory.
Unfortunately, one soon had to realise that Ted’s voice didn’t quite fit to the Victory material and that he would also never really fit into the bands concept. But thanx to the offer of Victory’s bass player “Peter Knorn” (Fargo-Pedder) to stay at his apartment, Ted could stay in Hannover for two weeks just to look around and check out with other bands or musicians. But he wasn’t really successful in finding good musicians to possibly form a new band. It was in a pub when Ted met “Henny Wolter” at last, they both got drunk (of course!) while talking about music and bands, then they finally agreed upon a Jam-Session for the next day at the practice room of Henny and Ole.
Henny Wolter, Ole Hempelman and Alex Scotti knew each other already for about 10 years. Each of them has played in some local bands now and then. Actually, they always wanted to play together, but since each of them has always been active in different bands they were never able do so. It was in Mai, each of them has either left his actual band or got fired, when they finally came together and formed a band. But since Alex still wanted to follow some other plans first, it was only Henny and Ole who played together until Henny finally bumped into Ted Bullet...
The following days at the practice room just went fantastic for everyone. Henny, Ole and Ted didn’t only get on well with each other but also shared the same musical style and even the musical influence of the 70th. So, the conditions for sticking together couldn’t have been better! Several sessions followed, but since the trio still didn’t have a drummer yet, they simply asked “Fritz Randow” (the drummer of Victory) if he could help them out for a while. Fritz said OK, and they even played live once, but then Victory went into preproduction of their album “Culture Killed The Native” and Fritz could no longer help the band out. (in the meantime Victory had found their new frontman in the 21 year young Spanish guy “Fernando Garcia”).
