Coloss were born in Roma at the end of 1999, it..s impossible to set the right month, with a four pieces line up, Luca (vocals), Mimmo (bass), Davide (guitar) and Publio (drums)
After few months and some shows in capitol city Luca calls it quit to dedicate himself totally to the fine art of classic ballet.
Coloss become a power trio: Davide and Mimmo play and sing too; those months are hard ones: some old songs are rearranged, some new songs are written and the band goes on anyway
Summer 2001 is here, the weather is hot and there is enough material to record a mini-cd, the first issue; but right in that moment Publio decide to go in Africa for a year (.. he'll soon be back after a couple of month having catch malaria). In two things get harder but in our head there was only one thought: To record! There is a thing called drum machine: so Let it be! Of course it's not really hardcore, it's not exactly what we wanted, but for two possessed that wanted to record it would have work out good.
Another man would be found, because in 2 it's not good anyway and there's no way to make a gig without drums; and then, fuck.. you must be at least three!!! So in September we go in the recording studio, i.e. our room, and between our domestic walls (and we really mean it!!) the 10 songs that will end in "Die Hard" are recorded. The record will be out in the first months of 2002, totally selfproduced.
In the meanwhile Eddi is recruited on drums, so we could start to play live as soon as the mini-cd is out. And as a matter of fact in 2002 we play; always and only in Roma, followed and supported in the real meaning of these word by a small circle of die-hards fan and supporters, more then the barren audience that crowded the shows.
We go on. Rehearsal are done every week. New songs, faster and louder, are written. Concerts are held always and only in Roma and the musical direction and attitude of the band is always more clear and defined. In November 2003 back in the recording studio, this time a real recording studio, where 15 songs are recorded, songs that will end in the second official work of the band "Play Fast".
In the cd are also included 2 songs recorded live in studio for a compilation that never came out.
"Play fast" it's officially out the 31st of January 2004 on Valium Recordz. With this Cd also someone not from Roma starts to take notice of Coloss, and after different show held in Roma in the previous year, 2004 sees the band playing in the south and in the north of Italy: the response of the audience is positive everywhere, they have fun and appreciate... Strange, don't you think so?
Before summer Coloss and Eddi part ways. This time the labour doesn't last long and Luca fills in on drums. Obviously is not the Luca that used to sing, it's another one! With the new bandmate behind the skins 4 new songs that will end in the 7' picture disc split Coloss/Die! are recorded. Vinyl is a co-production Valium Records/Equality Records and will see the light - due to some technical problems - only in 2005, several months after the European tour of November 2004 with Die! That by the way saw the band once again as a four pieces line up with Stefano on bass and Mimmo singing.
In september 2005 Coloss do they last show in Roma; but maybe not everything is lost...
Exactly 13 months later Coloss back together with Eddi on drums, having their comeback show in Roma on January 7th 2007 after 90 days of regular rehearsal and thirst of being on a stage again, ready to re-start from where they stopped. In November 2007 the brand new cd "Songs of hate and emotion" is out, proudly self-produced by the band and distributed by Hellnation Recordstore.
