About Me

"Well, we knew something good had to come of this. We just stumbled upon the new band from Joel Bravo, formerly of the excellent and now-defunct New York band Bravo Silva. Sex With An Angel is more stripped down than Bravo Silva and perhaps a bit more playful. Bravo's sense of melody continues to impress."
-THE L MAGAZINE, October 2007

Founded in January of 2007, Sex With An Angel is a hardworking indie-folk-rock octet that regularly serenades Booklyn with its musical offerings based on friendship, orchestration and pop. Peddling tunes featuring lyrics and melody that charm the soul, and twists and turns that surprise the brain, SWA creates a sound of its own, one rarely found in today's rock scene.

SWA began when songwriters Joel Bravo and Ian Everall, both formerly of the band Bravo Silva, gathered their friends together to play one show at the now-closed Lower East Side club Sin-e. After an overwhelmingly positive response, the group decided to continue playing together, and over the following months, morphed into what it is now: a burgeoning bundle of love and energy, in musical form.
