About Me

....track 1: RAJAWALI (OA M.NASIR) - M.Nasir is a songwriter/composer/producer/singer/actor/director. For more than twenty (20) years, his music style and concept has amazed the music scene especially in Malaysia and has inspired a lot of young talents to follow his path. This song was written and performed in the 80's. It tells a story about independence and freedom and how important it is for one to fight and die for it. There's no life without freedom. fieldplayers re arrangged and re produced this song as a symbol of continuing effort to preserved and protect our independence and also as a salutation to M.Nasir for his inspiring music all this years. RAJAWALI, a mythological bird in malay culture, flying freely in the sky. M.Nasir, a true malay.........track 2: YA SALAM - Ghazaal is one of the traditional malay music exquisite and is still very popular among the malays in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and South East Asia. fieldplayers gave a new "life" to this song as a benchmark of evolution in the malay music style.........track 3: YA LADDAN - This song is also one of the popular Ghazaal repertoires and has been reborn with modern embellishment by fieldplayers.........track 4: PADANG - Padang is an original compositions by fieldplayers guitarist, Bob Jr and the lyrics was written by the band leader/vocal, Jart Hassan. This song is a dedication to all the earthquake victims of Padang, Sumatera, Indonesia. A symbol of unity and brotherhood for all malays despite the nationality and country. We are ONE, no matter where we are.....***" TAK KAN MELAYU HILANG DI DUNIA - malay will never extinct from the world" : a famous quote by the legendary malay warrior, HANG TUAH.*** ......THE BAND STORY.... "fieldplayers" was founded by Jart and Aiman in december 2004. it all began at a music camp where the two of them first discussed about forming a band with a horn section. after the camp they started looking for musicians who are interested to join this project band and in a few weeks later they finally managed to grouped 11 musicians to formed "fieldplayers" and Jart was elected as the band leader and manager for the band. the name "fieldplayers" was found on a t-shirt that was worn by one of the band members during their practise session. Jart thought that the name "fieldplayers" will suit them well for the band has a big line up. they performed numerous shows in kl and cities of peninsular malaysia such as johor bahru and also abroad such as indonesia. after a while the trombone player, pdot decided to leave the band and act only as a session player for he has to much commitment with other projects. now with only ten (10) members left, "fieldplayers" are ready to take on the challenge of becoming performers at the local and international level. contact :FP Entertainment Management (001698093-T),8D-G-3, Block D, Mutiara Condominium, Jalan Bukit Indah 3/3,Bukit Indah, 68000 Ampang, Selangor, MALAYSIA Tel: +6017 294 1774, +6019 397 5213, +6012 201 6104 url:www.myspace.com/fieldplayers....www.showcaseyourmusic.co m/fieldplayers...... email:[email protected]*****FIELDPLAYERS DEBUT EP IS OUT!! Sounds Like: fieldplayers takes the traditional malay element with a touch of a modern style in their music. They would like to call it as a NEW AGE MALAY (MODERN TRADITIONAL). but in other circumstances, they would play any music and rearranged 'em to their band's format.
