K*A*T*Y

That's Katy with a 'Y'

About Me

1. I work... in Marketing and Events at Selfridges. That might be why you've seen me running across the store accompanied by Morris Dancers / Drag Queens / Father Christmas / a gaggle of models (delete as appropriate), dependent on budget and time of year. The fashion shows and shoots are slightly more glamorous.
2. I feel... my heart swell with joy when I come into contact with any clothing that ticks the polyester, borderline disgusting and 100% 1980s boxes; see also, clothes your mum swears she wore the first time round.
3. I truly believe... there is no greater good than a Saturday evening spent pre-drinking with the best girls in the business (pass the Cherry Lambers and Party Rings, please), followed by throwing sequin-framed shapes.
4. I enjoy...writing magazine and website articles. A lot. I've probably waved my latest fashion or music epic under your nose, and I apologise that you had to make the right noises.
5. I have... few vices in life but they mainly involve boys with good hair and even better outfits, spending approximately 97% of my income on frappucinos and trailer trash magazines and exclaiming 'MATE' at every possible unsuitable opportunity.

My Interests

I heart: the fact that MySpace makes you feel like a minor celebrity and also...good films, bad films, The Sunday Times Style supplement, Rene Gruau, Andy Warhol, DEAN CHALKLEY, journalism, backcombing, THE WEEKENDS, social life sponsorship c/o Virgin Trains, frappucinos, PARIS, boys who look like they should be in the best band in the world, high art, low art, ANIMAL PRINT, nice handwriting, card making, smudged eyeliner, witty, extended and unabbreviated texts, American Apparel, ALEXA CHUNG, la langue française, tights in every colour of the rainbow, dressing inappropriately for every occasion and climate, sarcasm, STRAWS, Cherry Lambers, corridors, LONDON TIMES, singing (loudly), Clairol semi-permanent hair colour (Dark Brown), pear cider (too much), HOT DATES AND HOTT DATE.

I don't heart: MY FAVOURITE PEOPLE LIVING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. Also, rain, camping, the absence of at least one 'x' at the end of a text, when my hairdresser cuts my fringe too short, indie imposters indie imposters indie imposters, SHARKS (I shark, you shark, he/she sharks...), poor spelling and/or grammar, having 129788756413 items of clothing yet NOTHING...TO...WEAR and knowing I will never be as cool as Karen O, VV from the Kills or Leila from The Duke Spirit. Ladies, I salute you.
