Dexter's interest in magic was spawned at an early age, but was not perused until later in his life. While planning for a party, he remembered a few little magic tricks he used to have as a child. He thought that if he had them again, he could really mess with the minds of his intoxicated friends. After locating the local Magic Shop in the phonebook, Dexter set off to purchase these tricks again, planning to spend about 40 dollars. Once in the shop however, the magic bug bit him, and his bill that day was in excess of 300 dollars. And so it began.
Since his humble beginnings, Dexter has performed for such notable celebrities as Joan Cusack, Alan Autry, and rock musician Wayne Static of the band Static-X. He has also launched successful school assembly programs that have been endorsed by the Mayor of Fresno, California and by the Corcoran Police Department. One of these programs is a corporate sponsored collaboration with the Fresno Falcons Professional Hockey Team. This program garnered considerable media attention, being the only program of its kind in the area.
Dexter has made several television and radio appearances on NBC, CBS, FOX, Clear Channel and Infinity Radio stations, and was featured on the Urban Television Networks "The 411". Dexter also has his own line of Magic effects (26 to be exact) all of which are hand made by Dexter himself. These products have been feature in the prestigious Magic Magazine, and purchased by some of the top names in Magic. In 2003, Dexter received the annual V.G. Award from the Brotherhood of Underground Magicians for his insightful view of Magic.
He is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, President of the Brotherhood of Underground Magicians for 3 years, and a member of the Society of Magical Arts, The Magic Castle. He is mentored by Barry Price who was in turn mentored by the legendary sleight-of-hand artist, Ed Marlo. Dexter was a consultant with world-renowned illusionist Criss Angel for his acclaimed television series for A & E entitled Criss Angel "Mindfreak". With 38 episodes to his credit he looks to the future with high expectations.
