Gina Maria, was born and grew up in The San Francisco bay area. She started dance training at the age of 4 and pretty much never has stopped. Always driven and ridiculed for it from time to time, Gina Maria was always up for a challenge. She entered in various talent contests but kept the singing ability pretty quiet. In high school she had a back up plan at the request of her parents, which was to go to college and get real job training. When FIDM(Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandize) came into view her Jr. Year, thanks to her art teacher Mrs. Niva. She was accepted to the school for fashion design. Starting out school in SF was amazing, but not the right fit. Shortly after her 19th birthday she decided to pack up and do what all the dreamers do, move to Los Angeles. Walking into the palm tree paradise, she was ready to finally try out that voice box. After running into several thick walls, one in particular being an experience that almost stole her soul and sent her back to SF for good... she refused. Still a little battered and bruised by the fall, she ended up singing backup for a band called, EL Camino. Having really loved being on stage she went on search for more bands to sing with. When she met a talented MC by the name of Antwon, out one night of course, she sang for him in his ear in the midst of people and blasting music. Antwon, went on to hire her on the spot for a backup singing position in his band, Antoneus Maximus and the Nuthouze band. After workin out those sweat beads more and more, Gina Maria started to move her way into a featured backup singer spot. Having played The Derby, BB Kings, The House of Blues, The Hard Rock, various private parties and The Legendary Roosevelt Hotel/Cinnegril; things have been rising to the point of solo stardom. With one rough track up, she is in the writing process and making way for setting the stage on fire! Just keep an eye and an ear out!
