About Me
- The Name -According to chronicles dating back centuries ago, on Friday, October 27, 1206 anEnglish peasant known as Thurkill was digging ditches to drain his Essex farm(possibly at the village of Twinstead, Sudbury) when a stranger, who identifiedhimself as St James (patron saint of pilgrims), came up to him and said he wouldtake the labourer on a journey. Thurkill lay down, going into a coma. In his vision,Thurkill passed through a "large purgatorial fire" and was immersed in a lake"incomparably salty and cold" ...this was "Thurkill's Vision"
- The Band -
Thurkill's Vision, 5 piece hard rock/metal outfit from Lowell Massachusetts, has avision of their own: To create a dark, aggressive, and melodic sound, without theboundaries that is evident in music today . "We offer alot more melody than youraverage metal band, and in retrospect, we are a lot more aggressive than youraverage rock band". The band's sound isn't one that can be easily described, butis abundant with hard-hitting, metal-esque grooves, chugging guitar riffs, andvocals that are as equally angelic as they are brutal at times. "We're not the kind ofband that is trying to fit into a specific genre, our influences are wide, and we aren'tafraid to explore different musical territories." This unique sound has caught theinterest of many, and brings much excitement to hear just what else this band hasto offer in the near future.
With just months after completion of their 3 song demo EP, provided by legendarylocal producer Jim Foster (Nullset, Gangsta Bitch Barbie), Thurkill's Vision ismaking quite the statement in the New England rock scene. The band has beenmet with a great deal of approval; whether it be from people around the worldlistening on myspace, or the people stricken by the intensity of the band's liveperformances. After making their debut performance in January of 2007, they havewent on to play successful shows all over the New England areas.
The band has also been graced to share the stage with some awesome bands, both locals and national acts, including: Amity Lane (National recording artists,Ex-Trust Company), Till We Die (Screaming Ferret recording artists), Escape 2Everything, Prospect Hill, Hostile Takeover, One in Vain, and many more.
