About Me

Whilst Music was not a high priority for me in High School, I managed to study it for my A-Levels, despite not taking it during my GCSE's and from then I progressed to study a Music Degree at Bangor University between 1998 and 2001. I focused my attention towards singing during my first two years, having spent up to 12 years singing for the Bangor Cathedral Choir (yes, the same choir that brought you Aled Jones - not that I'm name dropping........well, ok I am!!). However, things did not go according to plan during my 2nd year performance exam and so for my final year I decided I would base my major study on composition (where I wrote a Requiem for Choir and Organ). It wasn't until I left University that I began to take a further interest in Composition, and the idea of writing Film Scores. I figured I would practice by writing music to stories I had read and trying to convey the story in the Music. Eventually, when I have found somewhere that is Broadband friendly, I will upload some tracks of the work that I have done up to now. In the meantime, I would like to thank you for browsing my music space and hope that you will eventually my music as much as I have enjoyed writing it.Below is a video that Only Tease asked me if they could use a part of my music track Salva Me to make it stand out a bit more...comments are always welcome....Thanks to Angie at Only Tease for asking me to brighten up a video of theirs with my music

Influences: As far as Film scores go, I love the music of Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, etc etc. But as far as influences in my style of writing, my main project has been based on stories I have read and trying to emulate the same story in music, rather than words. I figure that is part of the method that Film Score composers may follow in creating the music they create for films.
Sounds Like: Basically, this is my page for me to upload and share some tracks of pieces I've written. My style is mainly classical, but I'm trying to branch out of that and learn different styles of writing, maybe songwriting or more contemporary music. When I do get to upload my songs, it won't be live instruments playing the pieces, as (surprisingly) I do not have a full orchestra sitting in the garage waiting for me to want them to play stuff, (I don't even have a garage, lol!) but they will be MP3 recordings of MIDI tracks. I appreciate that may not be the best medium for showing off my work, but it will at least give you an idea of what I'm about when it comes to writing music.
