Sounds Like: me, hopefully...
I was at a talk once with William Parker who said something about not trying to be like other people, because then, who would be you? I know that very strongly and I try to sound like myself rather than trying to imitate the list of drummers above.
...on the other hand, it seems the music within each of us expressing itself as our individual voice is connected to an even deeper collective kind of music. So then, we can't help sounding like each other 'cause music doesn't "belong" to individuals but is clearly a part of conciousness as a whole.
I listen deeply ( whether as just a listener or performer ) and my goal is to play music rather than just drums; I think there is a big difference.
