About Me

Get RI Magazine Is Here! AND WE HAVE A LOT TO SAY... Our goal as Rhode Island’s premiere lifestyles and information monthly is to provide an entertaining avenue of expression for all of the area’s creatives, pioneers and everyone. While this magazine primarily provides a forum for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered communities, Get RI Magazine, further aspires to serve as an all-inclusive publication addressing issues and events engaging the community at large. We embrace Rhode Island and the spirit of our progressive “divine-city-state."
WE GET AROUND. Beginning with a distribution of 10,000 targeting 80 strategic distribution points state-wide, we’ll be multiplying in no time. We travel the state reporting on pop culture, the arts and music scenes, spirit and health, finance, singles and family. Further, we love to eat, drink, sip espresso, and shop for the tasty morsels and products you’re just dying to find. Look for us at the GLBT+ events. Moreover, we offer sassy articles on sex, provocative cover stories, and edgy photography.
WE GET RHODE ISLAND. We get that our state cries out for a witty, intelligent discussion of issues that directly effect the gay, lesbian, and transgendered communities. Additionally, we support minority communities, the non-profit community, and the bohemian, indie artist community. We are young and old. We are outraged and excited. We are black and white. We are artists and accountants. We are gay and straight. We get it all.

GET RI MAGAZINE REACHES OVER 10,000 PEOPLE through our distribution to over 80 venues, popular throughout greater Rhode Island. You can pick up Get RI Magazine at GLBT+ organizations and events, as well as most upscale Rhode Island restaurants, cafés, salons and shops state-wide. WE ARE EVERYWHERE.

“Gay people’s spending habits make them prized.”

IN THE U.S.,THE BUYING POWER OF APPROXIMATELY 15 MILLION GAY AMERICANS IS ESTIMATED TO BE $485 BILLION. WHILE NOT NECESSARILY WEALTHIER THAN THE GENERAL POPULATION, GAY ADULTS ARE LESS LIKELY TO BE PARENTS. THEREFORE,THEY HAVE MORE DISCRETIONARY INCOME AND MORE TIME FOR LEISURE ACTIVITIES.

Here’s Why!
#1 FACT: RESPONSIVE
72% of gays and lesbians prefer to buy from companies that advertise to them directly.

#2 FACT: BRAND LOYAL
89% of gays and lesbians are highly likely to seek out brands that advertise uniquely to them; the majority are willing to pay a premium for quality products and services.

#3 FACT: EDUCATED AND CAREER-MINDED
83% of Gay America attended college or have graduated from college.

#4 FACT: STATUS-CONSCIENCE AND STYLE-CONSCIENCE
Compared to the national average, Gay Americans are twice as likely to own a prestige–luxury vehicle and four times as likely to shop at Neiman Marcus.
