WE HAD A LITTLE CEREMONY IN NEW ORLEANS, NOVEMBER 2,2002. WE WERE THE FIRST COUPLE "COMMITTED" IN NEW ORLEANS WHEN THE LAW WAS CHANGED RECOGNIZING SAME SEX PARTNERS. WE WERE FEATURED NIGHTLY, FOR A MONTH STRAIGHT ON OUR UNION. WE HAVE THREE CHILDREN. AGES 14, 10, AND 8. TWO GIRLS AND A BOY. WE HAVE SURVIVED THIS LONG BECAUSE OF OUR FAITH AND MANY BLESSINGS. Seven years ago I was in a very abusive relationship with the father of my children. I prayed every night for God to give me a way out.
