I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Good natured, laidback, with a well-developed sense of humor stemming from years of Monty Python, Bill Cosby, and more recently Eddie Izzard. I'm hopelessly addicted to books, music and movies, and have a weakness for pool. I love animals, and am currently playing the part of pet to a very independent, large yellow tabby cat named Monster, and his small, fiesty female counterpart, Bella Donna. I can be long winded and have a tendency to overuse elipses....

Books:

Oh Christ. My LibraryThing page is probably the best place to go for a more complete (and growing) list.My interests roam all over--I worked at a bookstore for 5 and a half years, which only worsened my addiction to books and expanded my list of prefered genres. However, I find myself most often dabbling in fantasy and fiction. I am also fascinated by history, philosophy, linguistics and have a weakness for (at least vaguely) intelligent humor.

Heroes:

Mae West. Calamity Jane. Grace O'Malley. Heart. I have a thing for women who know and pursue what they want, and gender roles be damned. You go, ladies.

Juvie fic is alive and well--adult fic is suffocating on its own feces.

This is important. Please spread the word. America's women are being lied to.

Alrighty folks--I know this is a long article, but it is well worth a read.  Government-funded health programs and websites are providing inaccurate information in the name of abstinance, spread...
