About Me

Wayne State Students for a Democratic Society aim to establish solidarity between students, faculty, university workers and the surrounding community, with the final goal of student and worker self-management and creating a university that serves the community's interests; organize to defend the rights, and express the immediate interests and needs of students, faculty and university workers through engaging our university, protest and if necessary, nonviolent direct action; and to rganize educational events that serve the real needs of those in the campus community—not the needs of private industry and the state.

Meetings are every Sunday @ 5:00pm

There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part, you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop! And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!"

Mario Savio
"It was the first time that I had ever been in a town where the working class was in the saddle ... There was much in it that I did not understand, in some ways I did not even like it, but I recognized it immediately as a state of affairs worth fighting for."

Homage to Catalonia
by George Orwell "I would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids!"

J. Edgar Hoover
