About Me

Costa was born and grew up on the West Coast of Russia and landed his first role at the age of 5 in a summer camp production for which he received a viewers choice award for his portrayal of an old woman. His days at school were filled with school productions and while at high school he, together with a friend developed a pilot for a radio program which they sold and were then employed to host it, and later as DJs. In 1996 he migrated to New Zealand where he acted in plays, musicals and films. Costa also returned to Ballroom, Latin American and Tango dancing. After coming to Australia in 2001, he continued his training and performed in films and on stage. In 2005 Costa moved to Sydney following his acting aspirations and since then has appeared in two feature films - "The Last Resort", directed by David Farrell playing the role of Agent Lawsov and "Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America" (opened in the US in May 2006 and was Movie of The Week), directed by Richard Pearce and shot in New Zealand where he played the role of a Russian Correspondent covering the story as it unfolded. After "Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America" he went on to work with Martin Brown (Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, Strictly Ballroom) and Ian Page on a pilot "Capture", (which gave him an opportunity to act in Spanish), "Wrong Number" (Part of Project Greenlight Australia) and then followed a TV Series "The Circuit" for SBS. Straight from the set in sunny Broome, Costa came back to Sydney to work on the play "Fencelines" for Newtown Theatre and then the road led back to Perth, to work on a one man show "The Wall".
His latest work includes two plays for "Short and Sweet" Theatre Festival, a series "Hacksaw" for Total Perception and a play "Noir". Costa is fluent in Russian & English & speaks some Spanish & French.
