About Me

I wanted to make this site for trading recipes and just to talk about food. I believe that people that love to cook and entertain also love to talk about cooking and sharing recipes.I have always loved cooking and growing up as a little girl I would set in the garden while the family was farming and I would eat anything and anything around me, dirty and raw. I was raised from a very large family that loved to cook and garden so it's something I didn't even think about. Later I opened a catering business named Southern Thyme Catering that grow and even though I no longer do catering, I still enjoy cooking. Having many cook books help but in the end just knowing your spices and herbs are the trick. I love trying all foods and cook all different cultures of food from Sourthern home cookin to Arbic!I took art and music in school and as the years have grown, my music taste have changed as well. Funny how the three go hand and hand now! Lucky me!!!Enjoy some of the recipes I share with you and copy what you like! I will try and post different things from time to time and shoot a few my way.

make your own map at: www.modmyprofile.comI tried something different this weekend with my Meatloaf. I thought everyone loves meatloaf but it's so blah and it's not something you would make with friends coming over and have a glass of wine with. I made little small Meatloafs and then when almost done, I put a mixture of blue cheese and mushrooms cooked in garlic on top then raped Puffpasty around them. Perfect little Meatloaf Wellington!!! It's so much better then the old blah way of making them. Served it with wild rice and baked tomatoes. Let me know if you try it and like it too!The Ultimate Cheese Course Recipe Soft goat cheese Aged goat cheese Teleme Camembert Gorgonzola Parmigiano-Reggiano 1 loaf walnut bread or other dark, dense breadCheese Plate tips: Lavender Honey drizzled over pungent Stilton or creamy Point Reyes Blue Cheese is surprisingly well-matched. The crumbly sweetness of biscotti with big cheeses and red wine is a wonderful flavor combination.Serve candied almonds or other candied nuts for an accompaniment with a sweet, salty crunch. The most elegant thing you can serve with a cheese course is a bowl full of warm pistachios...to occupy hand and mouth while you're sitting around the table talking with friends and finishing that great bottle of red wine.
